Senior Packaging Designer

We are now looking for an experienced Packaging Designer with a production focus to join our Design team.

You will be a part of a fast-growing global brand, and a dynamic team powered by ambition, passion for design, and strong business acumen. We are a childrens lifestyle brand with the – “Designed for kids – Loved by parents”

In this role, you will develop stylish, sustainable and cost-efficient packaging designs for our products. You will work with securing the quality, compliance and artwork of the packaging across all categories of products. You will work together with Marketing and Graphic Design to create unique eye-catching packaging special packaging that resonates with our target markets

You will be responsible for the day-to-day project management of packaging design as well as the production of final art. You will work to improve our packaging workflow by improving processes, procedures and templates. You will constantly be on the look out for improvement of sustainability, function, and materials. Packaging is one of our focus points for user experience - where brand DNA, visualization, and creative concept and design must go hand in hand with the rest of our brand. Efficient, commercial, and yet 100% remarkable and brand-focused.

You will be closely collaborating and communicating with our suppliers in creating the best option, as well as checking and approving the outcome.

You will be working from the LIEWOOD head office in Copenhagen and report to the Design Director, though work very closely with the Production, Marketing and Compliance teams.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Meeting with the design and marketing teams to discuss packaging specifications and confirm budgets
  • Suggest improvements by evaluating market trends and analyzing similar packaging designs.
  • Creating packaging ideas using hand sketches, verbal cues, words, and design software
  • Ensuring packaging designs accurately represent the company’s brand and ethos
  • Creating packaging mock-ups.
  • Identifying suitable packaging materials and improvements.
  • Collaborating with graphic designers and copywriters to finalize packaging text and graphics
  • Completing final drawings, die cuts and supplier info in Adobe or 3d format
  • Presenting and iterating design with stakeholders.
  • Project management of the packaging process and its stakeholders (internal & external)
  • Close collaboration on products, regulations, and projects with the Compliance and Production teams to ensure coherence on all touchpoints.
  • Specifying and approving qualities, colors and finishing.

Does this sound like you?

You have

  • A Bachelor’s degree in industrial design, graphic design, art, or a similar field
  • Proven experience working as a packaging designer
  • A structured way of working and interest in creating strong processes.
  • Natural talent for eye catching design and a keen eye for detail
  • Familiarity with various packaging materials – preferably with a sustainable profile
  • Knowledge of consumer packaging health and international safety regulations
  • Excellent written and verbal communicational skills in English
  • Marketing experience would be preferable
  • Strong skills in Adobe suite and 3d
  • An international and commercial mindset and the ability to analyze market trends and convert insights into strong performing packaging design.
  • An understanding and experience of PLM systems
