Sales Director

Founded in Copenhagen in 2018, HELMSTEDT works at the intersection between art and fashion - with the delight of the unexpected. The artistic approach is manifested in womenswear collections, sculptures, and poems that all together constitute universes that start their journey in the HELMSTEDT design studio in Copenhagen. We currently have an open position for an exciting role as our Sales Director.

Primary tasks:

  • Create and maintain buyer network across the world
  • Sourcing potential buyers and markets aligned with the Helmstedt brand
  • Provide full visibility into the sales pipeline at every stage of development.
  • Daily overview of orders and updates in relation to seasonal sales goals
  • Weekly statement of sales
  • Develop collection narratives for buyers in collaboration with the leadership team and design team
  • Responsible for developing sales strategies per collection in collaboration with the finance department and leadership team
  • Reporting back to the design team about tendencies and comments from buyers
  • Ensuring clear communication regarding sales terms between the production department, finance department, and buyers (delivery windows, changes in styles, changes in orders, cancellations, etc.)
  • Creating sales goals per collection based on tendencies, history, and collection
  • Prepare forecasts and KPI reporting for management, for use in organizational planning, financial forecasting, budget setting, and strategic planning.
  • Responsible for meeting sales targets of the organization through effective planning and budgeting
  • Continually assess current business distribution channels, develop and evaluate their performance and manage conflict ensuring alignment with territory plans
  • Prepare to report as needed
  • Maintain all data relative to partners, accounts, and activities
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, and recommendations, and drive actions.
  • Maintain sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors
  • Manage, develop, coach, control, and motivate the sales force to develop their skill to ensure that a high professional standard is achieved and monthly sales target and KPI target are met
  • Work collaboratively across teams including Design, Production, Finance, PR & Marketing
  • Representing the brand at fairs, shows, and selected social events
  • Assisting with guest lists and priority lists for Copenhagen Fashion Week events as well as entertaining buyers
  • Setting up showrooms in-house and externally (logistics, interior, cleaning)
  • Maintaining personal relations  with buyers and stores in person (approx. twice a month)

  • Experience for a minimum of 4 years within the field
  • Represent the brand both privately and professionally both physically and online
  • A big part of the work is networking globally where we encourage you to use your private social accounts as well - especially Instagram and LinkedIn
  • Independent, structured, responsible, like to streamline and optimize, and takes pride in delivering a high-quality of work
  • Positive, empathetic, and personable, good at starting and maintaining relationships with your colleagues
  • Experience in managing processes and projects that involve collaborating with teams across the organization.
  • Very good spoken and written English skills
