Head of Commercial Finance

What You'll Do

  • Work in close collaboration with CIFF's Director;
  • Work in close collaboration with CIFF’s Sales department, CIFF’s Marketing & Communications department and BC Hospitality Group’s (“BCHG”) Financial department to perform various financial analyses as needed;
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of various business plans and initiatives;
  • Collaborate closely with BCHG’s Finance department and act as primary liaison between CIFF and BCHG on all financial matters;
  • Support commercial initiatives by providing robust financial analyses;
  • Deliver on-going risk & opportunities and sales & profit analyses;
  • Prepare, analyze, and submit budgets and trends/forecasts reports in conformity with BCHG’s Financial Reporting Systems;
  • Manage cost control and conduct monthly financial review meetings with CIFF’s department managers;
  • Have daily contact with all CIFF departments, you will be directly involved in all projects on an ongoing basis.

What We Expect

  • Work as a business partner alongside CIFF’s director and act as the primary liaison between CIFF and BCHG’s CFO;
  • Support the co-director’s team in delivering global business plans in the short and the long term by identifying opportunities, leveraging internal resources and building business cases;
  • Collaborate with BCHG’s Finance department, CIFF’s Marketing & Communications department, CIFF’s Sales department and other departments throughout the company to develop and execute strategic initiatives;
  • Initiate ongoing improvement measures designed to increase the efficiency of our internal processes as they relate to sales, marketing and guest management services;
  • Implement post-trades how analyses to improve overall ROI;
  • Build up complex projects and identify connections and interdependencies across the group;
  • Offer strategic insights on new opportunities and play a key role in developing and implementing action plans relating to CIFF’s trade shows, rental business and urban development projects;
  • Support CIFF’s management team and help shape CIFF’s global agenda.


  • A minimum of 7 years of work experience acquired in a creative industry, preferably online/tech, fashion or FMCG, including formal team management and cross-functional project scoping with demonstrable connections to results and impact;
  • An advanced degree preferably in Finance and/or Audit;
  • Previous experience acquired primarily in international organizations;
  • A strong entrepreneurial mindset, you enjoy new challenges and are undaunted by start up projects in greenfields;
  • Experience in building complex business cases;
  • Extensive financial reporting experience;
  • A strong analytical and problem solving skills, business acumen, and leadership qualities;
  • Strong commercial instincts;
  • Ability to thrive in a highly creative, innovative and rapidly-changing environment;
  • Ability to operate in ambiguous and rapidly-changing situations;
  • Ability to adapt quickly to meet deadlines;
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, enthusiastic, ambitious and passionate;
  • Strong PC skills and experience in Windows packages (MS Office), Axapta and Qlikview.
