We have started Carcel in order to create an alternative way of fashion. By setting up our own supply chain we can create social impact and reduce our environmental footprint. We’ve built our own production sites inside of women's prisons where there is otherwise little opportunity for financial independence. We create a safe environment for women in prison to gain new skills, earn fair wages, and provide for their families. Our employees share their knowledge and craftsmanship with us. Together we create seasonless quality items using natural materials for pieces that last.
We are looking for the best. Can you tap into the roots of exclusive materials and craftmanship, create unique and aspirational designs for a global audience?
We are looking for a unique creative talent to lead our design development here in Copenhagen and to develop and implement designs with our teams in Thailand and Peru.
You will join our small but hardworking and passionate team in Copenhagen, whose vision is to create a new way of fashion by using only natural materials and employing women in prison. We don’t do seasons or collections, but work with smaller drops of recognisable and cool classics that stand the test of time. We differ, by running our own production sites currently in Thailand and Peru, using materials local to the region. Our designs are characterized by tapping into local craftmanship and going deep on everyday luxury with a Copenhagen unisex feel. We are currently looking for just the right hard-working and visionary designer who can develop our product lines further to cater for our growing online global customers and luxury retailers. It’s both a visionary and hands-on role, and an opportunity to make a mark on the world and showcase a new way of fashion.
