Category Manager / Buyer

Do you have a passion for buying and negotiation? Do you want to work in a fast paced, growing e-commerce beauty company collaborating with some of the best brands in the business?

Then you could be the person we are looking for as we are hiring for a maternity cover for our buying team with good opportunities for a full-time hire.

In this role you will take ownership of the Skincare category at Luxplus during a maternity cover with opportunities of a full time hire taking ownership of another business area. You are responsible for securing the right products at the right prices from a varied portfolio of strong brands. You will be responsible for negotiating and building strong relationships with our existing suppliers as well as looking for new brands to collaborate on while managing healthy stock levels for your category.

Furthermore, you will participate in setting the overall strategy and targets for your division. The role is in the Buying & Pricing department consisting of 10 people referring to the Head of Buying & Pricing.

In this role your responsibilities will be

  • First point of contact with top industry partners
  • Delivering on targets and stock management placing orders with suppliers
  • Signing new brands, always staying on top of what is moving in the market
  • Negotiating prices, commercial terms and partnership with brands and distributors
  • Ownership of a business category; tracking, analysing, and reporting on performance & actions
  • Setting and executing on annual Assortment Strategies
  • Close contact with brands regarding partnership and activities
  • Collaborate with marketing on brand promoting activities

We think you have all or some of the below

  • A degree in business, Supply Chain, buying or similar
  • +2 year’s experience in Buying or Key account management
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Good at building relationships with suppliers and ready to look for more
  • Good with numbers and strong sense of “making a good deal”
  • Team-player
  • Structured, analytical, and full of initiative
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong drive
  • You may have some experience within Retail and/or e-commerce buying
  • Not a requirement, but preferably you have experience within Retail and/or e-commerce
